This Packaging Engineer will support YETIs global growth and supply chain diversification and expansion through the design and development of packaging for new markets, primarily in SE Asia. Responsibilities Packaging Design Enable YETI's global growth by leading end-to-end packaging development for APAC expansion countries Enable global supply chain expansion by onboarding new factories and 3PLs to packaging standards, work instructions, and pack-out procedures Support the identification, qualification and onboarding of local packaging suppliers in partnership with Procurement Optimize packaging designs and processes to reduce waste across the supply chain Cost Savings Identify, develop and implement cost-saving opportunities within packaging processes, materials and designs Develop business cases for cost savings initiatives including ROI analysis; track and report cost savings metrics to senior leadership Partner with Procurement to understand financial metrics and collaborate on a cost reduction roadmap to ensure cost targets are achieved maintaining uncompromised quality and durability Process and Reporting Develop and execute a global packaging playbook inclusive of templates, tools and process necessary to activate swift new-market entry Initiate and drive upstream and downstream packaging efficiencies alongside Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Retail, Wholesale and Customization partners Develop and optimize packaging specifications and process documentation Support global EPR reporting obligations through the development and maintenance of real-time packaging material and costing reports Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Lean Engineering or related degree with 2-4 years' experience in a Packaging role Knowledge of global packaging and labeling regulatory requirements, priority being the APAC region Knowledge of packaging equipment, materials, automation, and lean manufacturing principles Familiarity with packaging testing methodology (i.e. ISTA & ASTM) and packaging software (CAD, TOPS, MaxLoad Pro, or similar) Familiarity with packaging suppliers and sourcing in the APAC region Able to prioritize activities that have the biggest impact while effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines Desire to work in a dynamic, fast pace, growing global brand Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across cultures and time zones Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills Must be fluent in English. The accuracy of the forecast will allow AEL serves customers with the expected level of service for current and new products, including optimization of inventory level. Forecasts are used for production capacity preparation on short-term plan (daily-weekly) and mid-term plan (1-2 years) which will impact the investment and cost concern. Manage the flow (daily/monthly) between AEL to ensure having the right level of service to customer and also control capacity loading in AEL to be align with short and mid-term plan for productivity concern. More than 40 Million lenses/year capacity to supply 50+ customers plugging with and being BCP labs for Rx activities of other labs, the reactivity are needed to support the complexity & flexibility of Rx business. Main Responsibilities: -Demand Management Collect and compile demand forecasts from customers, regional supply chain team, Key accounts and project managers. Analyse, challenge and validate customer forecast and/or build it based on actual sales, marketing plans, business seasonality, new product roll out and product discontinuation plan. Provide demand forecast to AEL Inventory team and ensure well integrate the demand forecast in Mass S&OP process. Organize the communication of the changes in the demand scenario to all stakeholders Maintain and improve forecasting process to sustain the forecast accuracy. Estimate impact on the inventory for new product demand -Capacity Planning and Flows Management Estimate the load impact on the different workshops in the labs and publish the reference Master Plan for mid-term production plan with the good quality for management team decision and for Rx S&OP process. Provide weekly demand per workshop for short-term production plan. Day-to-day changing the flows between AEL to ensure service to customers and production performance. Define and follow up the capacity action plans from the labs. Decide the routing (Rx & Non Rx) on new products/flows. -Team Management Lead Demand and Flows management team to maintain and improve the performance of team, i.e. Stock Output and workshop loading forecast accuracy. Improvement the process to be efficient delivery information to stakeholders. Manage relationship and implement/maintain the standard process among AEL labs.
